Av 13 nominerte titler til den nordiske barne- og ungdomslitteraturprisen er hele 9 bildebøker. Det gjenspeiler noe av den tendensen som gjør seg gjeldende på barnelitteraturfeltet for tiden - bildefortellinger tar mer plass enn før. De tre titlene som er nominert fra Norge er alle bildebøker, og representerer svært ulike uttrykk.
