Xueting Yang was born in Kaifeng, China in 1988. She spent most of her childhood in a hospital garden and received the enlightened education of storytelling from that place. In 2011 she came to Norway and studied visual communication at KHIO. Now she makes illustration and graphic novel.
Her debut book Et Annet Sted received the Kulturdepartementets tegneseriepris and sølv i Årets vakreste bøker. This book can be read as a meeting with Norway through the one who comes from outside. It bears the stamp of Xueting own poetic and personal view of the world.
Xueting Yang hopes she could bring more of the beauty and depth from literature into comic.
